My mother is an avid gardener and has transformed her yard from a scrubby expanse of red Georgia clay to a wonderland of lilies, herbs, and lots of yard whimsy. However, she’s highly sensitive to poison ivy. Every two years or so, her entire face swells so severely that her eyes are reduced to slits.
She has it right now … and I said to her … “Mom, you really need to figure out what poison ivy looks like.” And she responds (with her German accent) … “Ja, I’ve been tryin’ to figure that out for de past ten years.”
